Mike is Currently is currently the Director of Red, Orange, Green Programs at USCTDP.
Mike has been playing tennis since age 7 and competitively since his first tournament at age 8. After that he was addicted to competitive play. He played tournaments as a junior in Georgia, Florida, and Connecticut, then played High School Tennis, progressed to playing in College fro 4 years, and eventually trained in Florida to play on the Satellite Tour.
Formerly the Director of Tennis & Sports at the Western Area YMCA He has been teaching Tennis since he was 18. He is a Certified USPTA , 10 & Under, and Cardio Tennis Instructor. Mike teaches Juniors and Adults, and currently instructs Beginner, Intermediate, and advanced Adults and Juniors.
He is the Moon High School Coach and has served on the USTA AMD Council for the last 10 years.He is also the local town Instructor for Moon Parks & Recreation.
His passion for tennis has led him into as many avenues as he can to help Grow the Game for all types of players. He is most proud of the programs and volunteer work he has been able to do introducing kids to the game in primary and elementary schools, especially those who often might not be exposed to tennis.
A resident of Moon Township it was Jan Irwin that inspired him to come to teach at Upper Saint Clair Development Program several years ago.
